I’m a busy girl. I’m always out and about doing something. Whether it’s running around or shooting my blog or cleaning or styling… I’m always busy, and it drives my boyfriend nuts. He always wishes I would come home after work and just lay on the couch and relax. Yeah, not so much. I always have things that I need to work on. I like being busy. Maybe I just love chaos, who knows, but I am always happy when I am getting things accomplished.
Sometimes, though, I get tired. I long for the days of the endless energy I had in my twenties and early thirties. Sometimes I just need to relax. The best place for me to relax is wandering around a city, in my case, Charlotte. I love to walk around, listen to the traffic and smell the fabulous aroma of street food. I love to hear musicians and watch tourists take pictures. I also love to look at architecture and to study the lines and shapes of buildings. Coincidentally, I have always been my most calm when walking through a bustling city, including New York.
So here we find ourselves, wandering the streets of Charlotte on this lazy Saturday. It was easy to dress for it. There was a slight chill in the air on this day, so I immediately grabbed my new beanie from The JetSet Diaries. I received this in my Fall FabFitFun subscription box (review coming soon!) and I love it. The color is perfect and it has just the right amount of slouch to it that it stays in place perfectly. I wanted to be cool and comfy, so I added on this Old Navy graphic tee stating “Weekends Are For Waffles.” This is a very true statement; however, I would also add coffee to the mix, hence the Dunkin Donuts. This tee is super soft, super affordable and it went great with my new favorite denim from Express. The distressed detail along the waist is my favorite part. I could run a marathon in these jeans (I won’t, though. I’m way too lazy in that regard).
OMG, how could I have gone this far into the blog without discussing footwear?!?!?! You have to have comfortable footwear in the city. You have to. These Simply Vera Vera Wang booties are old, but fabulous. The two tone look of black and navy gives this bootie a leg up (if you will). I’m also currently obsessing over my new Gigi New York clutch (received in my Fall Box of Style – read the review HERE). It has a reptilian look (my fav) and it’s navy! Honest to God, I’ve been looking at navy bags recently, so of course it was meant to be.
I love the look of my outfit. I love the feel even more. It’s cool. It’s city. It has a great weekend vibe.
