Happy Friday, Blog readers!

I find myself often being asked if I know what I’m going to write about each week. The truth is, I don’t. I always know what look I’m going for, but I am always unsure of the content until I begin to edit through my pictures. This week was no different; however, I had quite a surprise this week.

Immediately, I knew that I would write about surprises, seeing how I could not have been more surprised if I tried in regard to my sandals in these pictures.

About 2 months ago, I was lucky enough to happen upon one hell of a sale at Macy’s, in the shoe department. All sale shoes were buy one get one FREE. Not 25% or 50% off. FREE. So I snagged some Ivanka Trump lace up flats and these gorgeous Michael Kors sandals.

I loved the metallic thread of these black sandals.  They are incredibly comfy and obviously chic. That is not surprising. What was, is the way they photographed. You can clearly tell they are leopard print from the photo. In person, the detail is completely hidden. It was such a surprise to me, as I am not really a fan of leopard print.

Here is another surprise: I love the look of them! Me. A girl with no leopard print in her closet whatsoever. Who would have thought?

I was also pleasantly surprised with this Jennifer Lopez romper (on sale now!). Many, many years ago when I worked as a stylist at Juicy Couture in Greenwich Village, I was surrounded by all styles of rompers. I loved the look on other women, but felt (in all honesty) that I would look like a complete moron if I tried to rock one. So over the years, I let them pass me by, until back in May when I wanted to buy a new outfit for my nephew’s graduation party. I was shopping at Kohls and found myself being pulled towards this romper. I thought, “With my tricky figure and sizing, this will be a nightmare,” but I pushed myself into that dressing room to at least give it a shot. And much to my surprise…

I loved it. The fabric drapes perfectly, the sleeves can be rolled up and buttoned or left down (as modeled here) and I love that I can cinch in the waist to show off my figure.

Fashion, just like life, is full of surprises. And I can’t wait to see what comes next!!!
