I have to admit. I’m feeling this look.
As soon as I threw it on, I was excited to strut my stuff in the city. I feel girly. It’s hard not to in ruffles and glitter, I suppose. I feel carefree, with my sunnies on and my hair swept back in a simple pony. I also feel hot (literally, because Charlotte is humid as hell).
Though I (and always will) classify myself as a jeans and tee kind of girl, I admit I do have a hard time passing up a beautiful dress. I was at Banana Republic last month and was perusing the sale section when I saw this beautiful wrap dress with the prettiest ruffle at the sleeve. Wrap dresses are the best thing ever, by the way. (Diane Von Furstenberg hit it out of the park in regard to wrap dresses). They give you curves (or accentuate the ones God gave you!) and they cinch in your waist to give you a fabulous hourglass shape.
So needless to say, between it fitting like a glove and being ON SALE (with an ADDITIONAL 50% off!!!!), who was I to say no?
I loved pairing my Jessica Simpson black glitter pumps with this dress. The dress is pretty and fun, but I wanted to amp it up a bit…and these heels are so much fun! I was worried that the glitter would fall off easily or transfer onto other fabrics and I have been pleasantly surprised that neither has happened. I love the look of a traditional pointed toe black pump with the added surprise of glitter and sparkle. (I’m also excited to start pairing them with denim…I’m thinking they will look fabulous with a distressed hem!).
As I’m running around the city, checking out the architecture and smelling the flowers, I’m almost oblivious to stares from onlookers. Could it be the curve hugging dress? The unexpected sparkle of the heels? The fun loving, carefree spirit of the blonde in her sunnies?
I have a feeling it may be all three.
